Good Morning Sabah People, Greetings from London! Notting Hill is far more fun with Arielle Cooper-Lethem. On a recent Saturday, her bright energy lit everyone up as we checked out her favorite vintage shops, antiques dealers and grocers in West London. The stylist and costume designer, most recently of Lena Dunham’s show 'Too Much', has an eclectic personal style informed by her New York past and London present, plus an array of unique references. Arielle styled our Etna Alto Boots for market day on Portobello Road, and tied her son’s beads to the laces for a fun, colorful touch. Want to learn more about Arielle’s London spots? Read on! Sincerely, The Sabah Dealer -- | | Hey Arielle! What have you been working on? "I really enjoyed working on Lena Dunham’s television series 'Too Much', and the BBC show, 'The Listeners'. Those were great projects." Were there any 'Too Much' favorites? "Felix, Will Sharpe’s character, has a small closet. He mixes and matches. He is spiritually like me. I fall in love with something and wear it a lot. I like comfortable clothes!" | | How much of your personal style do you bring to set? "I think every character has a bit of me in them. I put things together a bit differently than most people, and I hope that comes through in the show styling. When it comes to my personal style, I wake up as a new person everyday." | | Where in London do you like to take friends visiting town? "In Notting Hill, regular spots include Found And Vision for vintage, Lemaroc for meat and vegetables, Love Supreme for yoga. Elsewhere, I love the Vintage Showroom, National Portrait Gallery, and J.Sheekey for oysters and sausages. The Prince Charles Cinema. And The Cow, the best pub in the world. I take everyone for a meal by the fire at The Cow (but not on weekends)." | | What inspired your beaded Altos? "My friend bought these beads from a hair braiding shop for my son–we made necklaces with them, so I tied some on my boots too!" | | Where to Next?
"Hopefully designing a film. My favorite place to be!" | | Thanks for inspiring us, Arielle! | | Inspired by NYC, Made in Turkey. | | Our new hair-on Sabah and Baba pattern, Terrazzo, is inspired by the iconic tiled floors and walls across many hotels, museums and lobbies of NYC. It's a unique geometric arrangement designed by Sabah and printed on a super soft hair-on leather in Istanbul -- the perfect pattern for Fall. | | | | |
