We know that being a mom is one of the most rewarding, yet demanding, roles there is. Between caring for your loved ones, managing the household, and often juggling work, stress can sometimes creep in. Stress and anxiety can manifest physically, leading to teeth grinding (bruxism) at night. While you're taking care of everyone else, it's important to take care of yourself too. This Mother's Day, we wanted to share a few tips that might help you (or a mother you know!) find a more peaceful night's sleep and reduce teeth grinding: | | 01. Wind-Down Ritual Before bed, try incorporating a relaxing routine. This could include a warm bath, reading a book (not on a screen!), or listening to calming music. | | 02. Gentle Jaw Exercises Sometimes, tension in the jaw muscles can contribute to grinding. Gentle stretching and relaxation exercises for the jaw might help. (You can find some examples here in our blog post). | | 03. Hydration and Diet: Ensure you're well-hydrated throughout the day and try to avoid caffeine and alcohol, especially in the hours leading up to bedtime, as these can sometimes exacerbate anxiety and muscle tension. | | 04. Stress Management Techniques Explore stress-reducing activities that work for you, whether it's light exercise, meditation, deep breathing exercises, or spending time in nature. Even a few minutes each day can make a difference. | | 04. Consider a Night Guard If teeth grinding persists, a dental night guard can provide a protective barrier for your teeth and help alleviate pressure. | | Fitted perfectly to you, and your budget. | | Use #sentinelsmile and tag us on IG to receive 15% off | | No longer want to receive these emails?
