A friend of mine had shared some rubber stamps she bought at Outstamping Designs in West Des Moines, IA. She showed me the wonderful wrapping paper she had created, and I thought it looked so fun. I crawled around our dining room floor, seven months pregnant with my daughter, stamping gold and silver metallic Christmas balls on white tissue paper. I carefully wrapped all the gifts that year with the paper along with matching fabric ribbon, only to be devastated when everyone ripped open their gifts and the beautiful paper got stuffed into trash bags. That is when I decided that card making was a way I could create without the sadness! It allowed the recipient to display the Christmas cards and reuse them for future Christmas tags, etc or toss them without me watching! What is one way stamping brings you joy? Stamping allows me to use my hands and heart creating small works of art in a few hours. I smile during the whole process from choosing the recipient’s favorite color and images, to the handwritten note, dropping it in the mailbox, and hoping that it brings as much joy to the recipient as it did to me creating it. How long have you been a fan of TE? I attended a trunk show that Taylor had at Outstamping Designs; I don’t remember the exact year. Taylor demonstrated some of her stamps, and I bought my first TE stamp set, Green Acres, to use for my father-in-law’s next birthday card. In 2014, I attended the first Stamp Joy and have been a happy, obsessed TE fan ever since. How does TE empower you in your crafting journey? Over the years, TE has offered such beautifully designed card-making products along with their strong commitment to fellow crafters with stellar customer service, amazing live crafting events from T Time with Taylor, Susan, Heather, and Sue, Stamp Joy in-person and virtual, and offering classes at The Studio and virtually. You keep me excited about my hobby and connect me with other wonderful TE enthusiasts as we share our creations on the TE Fan Page.
What is your mantra for life (or stamping)? My mantra in life and stamping is to create joy for my family, friends, co-workers, and anyone I meet through a word, a smile, a helping hand or a handmade card. My license plate says it all (CR8JOY)! -------------------- Join a caring, crafty community in the Fans of TE Facebook Group!
