Hey UpCircler,
I’m Clara - it’s the first time we’re in touch, so I wanted to say a quick hello!
I head up New Product Development here at UpCircle.
My job is a bit like being a matchmaker: I get to pair up beautiful upcycled ingredients with the right formulas to create products that truly work.
Every product has its own sourcing story, and being able to walk you through the process first hand, is a true privilege.
When I began developing our Scalp + Hair Oil, I knew it had to be something truly special.
For me, great hair starts at the source - the scalp. It’s so often overlooked, yet it’s the foundation for strong, healthy locks. A balanced scalp microbiome is where shine, strength and growth really begin.
That idea became my starting point: to create a product that doesn’t just smooth and soften strands, but one that truly nourishes the scalp too, treating both as one connected system.
It wasn’t quick or easy.
This formula took months of research and dedication, endless ingredient testing and countless tweaks to get the balance exactly right.
I wanted it to feel lightweight and fast-absorbing, but still deliver deep nourishment. Not just effective, but indulgent - something you’d look forward to using and be part of your self care ritual.
The breakthrough came when I found the perfect blend of natural oils rich in antioxidants, fatty acids and vitamins.
Each test brought me closer to that “yes, this is it!” moment, and when it finally came, I knew we’d created something that would sit beautifully alongside our Hair Serum (which you can shop here now!)
