This is the time of year when I naturally slip into hibernation mode—which really just means I want to be as cozy as possible. But there’s something about that stillness, about giving yourself permission to pause, that gently pulls me back into an artist’s mindset. We’re so constantly flooded with images and information that it’s often in the quiet moments—when we’re more intentional about what we take in—that we start to notice the small details again.
Lately, I’ve been finding my way back to painting—playing with color outside of what I do for my brand. In a funny way, it always ends up informing my work here too. It brings me back to my most authentic self. And in the middle of all of that, I’m also savoring a little extra time at home with my family. These are a few of the things keeping me company this season.

| | And speaking of painting—there’s something about iridescent, metallic tones that I can’t get enough of right now. These watercolor metallics from Sennelier are absolutely stunning. Mixing them is as beautiful as it is therapeutic, and it’s become one of my favorite quiet rituals.
| | My new home in the country is finally starting to feel like “home,” though there’s still plenty to do.
