Editor's Take

So here's the thing about Violette_FR-it's basically what happens when a French makeup artist decides to bottle up that effortless Parisian cool we're all secretly trying to achieve. Founded in 2021 by industry-beloved French makeup artist Violette Serrat, this isn't just another beauty brand trying to convince you that you need 47 different products to look human.

Violette's whole philosophy is refreshingly anti-perfectionist. The brand aims to redefine our relationship with beauty, eschewing the toxic pursuit of perfection for the French philosophy that beauty should not conceal but rather enhance confidence in our unique traits. And honestly? That's kind of revolutionary in a world where every other brand is pushing flawless coverage and Instagram-ready looks.

What makes this brand different is Violette's background-she's not some influencer who decided to slap her name on generic formulas. She's an award-winning makeup artist with nearly two decades of experience who has collaborated with fashion's biggest names and held leadership roles at premier beauty retailers and brands. Plus, she studied painting at École de Louvre, which explains why her approach to makeup feels more like artistry than just... well, makeup.

The product line spans makeup, skincare, and even hair products, but everything has this distinctly French sensibility. Violette's approach balances the bold with the 'au naturel', bridging the gap between the minimalist and beauty-obsessed. Think rich, highly-pigmented liquid eyeshadows that you can apply with your fingers, or that lip balm that took six years to develop because she refused to compromise on the formula.

And here's something interesting-her brand's best-sellers are actually in the skin-care category, even though she's known for her bold eye looks and red lips. The brand is also serious about sustainability, with vegan, clean, and cruelty-free formulas that are Sephora Clean and EU compliant.
