Fall has a rhythm all its own. The air shifts, the colors deepen, and everything feels just a little more cinematic. It’s that in-between moment when you turn inward—more reflective, a little quieter, noticing the way nature changes—while at the same time life picks up, social calendars fill, and you’re pulled outward again. From Billie Holiday on the record player to the art I can’t stop thinking about—and of course, the eye shades I keep reaching for—these are the things setting the mood for my season. Avec Amour, Violette
| | Right now, I find myself reaching for Yeux Paint shades in warm neutrals—I’m drawn to anything that can replace a classic black smoky eye with a more interesting, vibrational color, like the rich brown of Café Serré. I’m also loving warm latte tones like Tout Doux and Caramel Chaud—shades that reflect the natural colors of the season. | | Man Ray has always been a huge inspiration to me, so I was thrilled to catch his recent exhibit ‘When Objects Dream’ at the Met in New York. With kids, it’s not always easy to make time for art outings, which makes it even more rewarding when something leaves me so inspired. The show spans his photography, painting, sculpture, and film—so, if you’re in New York, I highly recommend seeing it before it closes in January.
| | Lately I’ve been obsessed with super-thin champagne glasses that hold just a few ounces—not so much for the drink itself, but for the feeling of holding one. It’s a little fancy, a little seasonal, and it turns every sip into a ritual. These coupes from Japanese glassmaker Kimura are timeless pieces you’ll enjoy for years to come.
| | I’ve been seeing so many amazing suede jackets this season—and honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I’ve been obsessed with Nour Hammour’s pieces for a few years now, and this season’s versions are just as good. She has the coolest take on a classic barn jacket, and I’m also into this western-inspired one with fringe. But if you’re looking for something more wallet-friendly, the Sézane version is simple, easy, and such a good everyday layering piece.
| | Jazz just feels like the perfect backdrop for fall—warm, soulful, and a little nostalgic. I keep coming back to Billie Holiday, her voice on repeat as the season’s soundtrack. It’s the kind of music that makes even the simplest moments—making tea, watching the leaves change—feel cinematic.
