Marseille has always held a special place in my heart. Its light, its energy, and its raw beauty linger in my mind long after I leave. Last year, we shot the Bisou Jelly campaign at Tuba Club, one of my favorite seaside escapes. So for Bisou Jelly’s one-year anniversary—and because you loved our Marseille guide last summer—I wanted to share a few more favorite spots in the city, some I’ve loved for years, others more recent discoveries. And if you enjoy this, stay tuned… I’ll be sharing a Paris guide soon. | | First things first: what to pack. Bisou Jelly is the perfect beach-bag companion for Marseille—or really any summer destination. Our sheer lip shine feels fresh and effortless, with a light-reflecting sheen and moisturizing Vitamin E for a juicy, just-bitten lip look.
| | Once a diving school in the 1980s, Tuba Club is now a small hotel and restaurant right on the water in Les Goudes. The terraces spill straight out onto the rocky calanques, so you feel like you’re eating right at the edge of the sea. It’s the kind of place made for long lunches, letting your skin turn golden, and forgetting the time as the hours drift by.
| | Artist Sarah Espeute creates hand-embroidered linens—tablecloths, napkins, placemats—that blur the line between daily life and art, stitched with motifs ranging from fruits and vegetables to seascapes and beyond. Minimal, poetic, and rooted in craft, her pieces make even the simplest table feel thoughtful and a little whimsical. While you can shop them online, it’s a real treat to step into her Marseille studio and see the work up close.
| | Atelier Renata is a newer discovery—an intimate spot that feels more like eating in someone’s home than a restaurant. Self-taught chef Erika Blu cooks from her Roman-Venetian roots, serving soulful, seasonal dishes in a cozy former artist’s studio. The atmosphere—lined with jars of sauces, family photos, and even a piano for impromptu songs—makes it feel like a true gathering place. The menu changes often, but it’s always simple, heartfelt cooking with a touch of creativity.
| | A little unassuming boutique with those effortless, chic pieces that feel just as at home in Marseille as they do in New York. The focus is on easy, pleated silhouettes crafted in responsibly sourced natural fabrics—organic, fair-trade silk and organic-cotton linen—colored with natural dyes. The palette is soft and timeless, designed to move with you season after season.
| | Set on the rooftop of Le Corbusier’s iconic Cité Radieuse, MAMO is an art space designed by Ora-ïto. The modernist architecture alone is worth the visit, but paired with rotating exhibitions, it offers the chance to see past and present design in dialogue—all with sweeping views of the city, where architecture and art meet in the sky.
