It’s officially March, and spring is right around the corner! As bluebonnets emerge in Texas and snow melts in the north, this month is prime time to shake off the cobwebs and get those wheels turning again. Not sure whether your kid’s bike still fits? Take our bike finder quiz.
Before every ride, give your child’s woom bike a quick “ABCD” safety check. This ensures the most critical components are in good order – especially important if the bike hasn’t been ridden for a few months.
A is for AIR: Are the tires inflated to the correct pressure? (Check the tire sidewall for recommended PSI). B is for BRAKES: Do the brake levers pull smoothly? Do the brake pads engage the wheel rim (or rotor for disc brakes) effectively? C is for CHAIN: Is the chain clean and lubricated? Spin the pedals backward; does the chain move freely? Are the crank arms secure? D is for DROP TEST: Lift the bike a few inches and gently drop it. Does anything sound loose or rattle? For bikes with quick-release wheels, ensure they are securely closed.
As the Official Bike Partner of 1000 Hours Outside, we’re on a mission to trade screen time for sunshine and "less scrolling for more rolling!" This March, we’re inviting your family to join our community-wide challenge.
The goal? Log 100 hours on two wheels throughout the year. Whether it’s a quick neighborhood loop or a weekend trail adventure, every minute counts toward reclaiming childhood through outdoor play.
