When NASCAR finally brought the Cup Series here in 2022 for the inaugural Enjoy Illinois 300, they sold out 5,000 ticket deposits in the first 24 hours. The actual race weekend? Over 100,000 people showed up from 46 states and 20 countries.

But wait-there's more than just racing. During NASCAR weekend, they host the Confluence Music Festival, bringing in major musical acts alongside the racing action. And when winter rolls around and racing season ends, the infield transforms into WonderLights, this massive drive-through Christmas light display. It's like the track refuses to sit idle.

The economic impact is substantial too. The Enjoy Illinois 300 generates an economic impact of $60 million for the Metro East region. That's real money flowing into hotels, restaurants, and local businesses. World Wide Technology, the tech company that bought naming rights in 2019 (and just renewed for another five years), uses the venue for STEM education initiatives, exposing kids to careers in technology and motorsports.
